I like how it works through a sort of communion with the ambient world around one.

One of the few objects of this... functional type that I would be comfortable giving a girlfriend, provided we were at the appropriate level of intimacy.
Otherwise, giving a girl a gift like this, though probably enlightened, seems to be saying, "Hey, guess who you need EVEN LESS than you suspected?"
It's all very self-outdating.
